For over four decades, patients and their families have turned to the physicians of Surgical Associates of New Haven for their surgical needs. We are a practice of five General Surgeons, which means that we are all trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of diseases and skilled in various operating techniques. Each of us brings to the general practice special expertise and additional training in particular areas of interest. Certified by the American Board of Surgery we are also members of important medical societies such as the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Society for Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Committed to maintaining excellence in our fields, we have distinguished ourselves as leading practitioners in the region. We treat patients at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael as well as the Temple Surgical Center, the Temple Recovery Care Center, and the Shoreline Surgical Center in Guilford. We are members of the teaching faculty of Yale University’s School of Medicine and participate fully in the education and training of surgical residents, fellows, medical students and physician assistant students at both New Haven hospitals. The group is proud to offer the convenience of in-office procedures such as local excisions, biopsies of skin lesions, breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsies as well as lymph node biopsy. We are skilled in the most current procedures including laparoscopic surgery (also known as minimally invasive surgery) of the gallbladder, stomach, hiatal hernia, abdominal hernia, spleen, colon. Surgical Associates treats a wide spectrum of conditions. Among the most common are:
